First Aid at Work (3 day course)

Dates: Wednesdays – 14, 21 and 28 February 2018 (Attendance is required on each day)

Time: 09.00 – 17.00

Who is it for?

This accredited qualification is ideal for those already working in industry wishing to become an Emergency First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (NI) 1982.

Course Content

The course duration is 3 days and topics covered include:

  • The roles and responsibilities of the work place First Aider.
  • Assessing and managing an incident.
  • Recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness.
  • Recognition and management of injury or illness in the workplace.

Qualification Gained

The qualification is assessed via on-going oral and/or written questioning and practical demonstration.

All successful candidates will be issued with a First Aid at Work Certificate, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualification. These qualifications are valid for a period of three years, at which point learners will need to re-sit the course. However, the recommendation is that learners attend a First Aid Annual Refresher course to maintain their knowledge.
