Thank you to all those who were able to join us in our latest Networking event celebrating the Launch of the ‘Dylan Thomas In Fitzrovia Festival’.
We were pleased to have Mr Evgeny Lebedev proprietor of the Evening Standard and The Independent launch the Festival from The Building Centre on Store Street.
Griff Rhys Jones was joined by Alan Rickman, Tom Hollander and Owen Teale for the unveiling of a replica of the shed in Laugharne, west Wales, in which Dylan Thomas wrote.
The festival concluded on 26 October after a week-long programme of event’s based in and around Fitzrovia. The finale was a special gala concert at the Southbank’s Queen Elizabeth Hall with a host of famous names and faces including Tom Hollander, Sian Phillips, Jonathan Pryce, John Owen-Jones, Lesley Manville and Griff Rhys Jones.
The BID is proud to have been a part of the Dylan Thomas Festival, celebrating one of our greatest poets in this, his centenary year. The festival’s programme of events celebrated the rich cultural life that Fitzrovia has to offer and explored how this area played such an important part in Thomas’s London life, cementing Fitzrovia’s reputation as one of London’s most bohemian areas.
