First Mile have continued to collect 7 days a week and make extra collections to offices when needed. Please see below what First Mile offer to members now and what will happen once members return to work.
At the moment, First Mile will always offer free next day delivery. If a business needs sacks or other waste and recycling provisions, they can place an order on the portal or call Customer Service and the products will be delivered the next working day.
For businesses now working from home, they might have an increase of the amount of waste produced that the council cannot collect, and so need an extra collection. They offer a next-day clearance collection service, where they can collect any waste – bulky waste, bagged waste or loose waste.
This service is quoted per collection, so members need to send a description of the waste and photo of the waste that needs clearing to Customers@thefirstmile.co.uk and First Mile will get back to them same-day with a quote for the removal.
Businesses may also need a confidential waste collection if they’re working from home, which they can also collect, and process it in the same trusted and secure way as usual.
The customer would just need to send an email with a description of the waste to Customers@thefirstmile.co.uk and it will be collected on the next working day.
On return to offices, First Mile can always attend same-day for extra collections for waste that’s left outside (recycling, rubbish and food), and we can always attend next working day for in-office collections (confidential waste, WEEE).
Allocations will be renewed on April 01 2020, which is great news! This means that all members can order their free (subsidised) The Fitzrovia Partnership recycling sacks and stickers on the 1st.
