SIX WORK PROGRAMMES 2022 > 2027

PROJECT: FITZ&SITS, PART OF LFA2025

Welcome to 'Fitz&Sits' in Fitzrovia

Following the success of Rabbit Warren Street in 2024, The Fitzrovia Partnership has teamed up again with London Festival of Architecture (LFA) to showcase a new public realm scheme. In response to a shortage of public seating in the area, we’re creating innovative, temporary seating solutions.

LFA2025 will see the unveiling of Fitz&Sits, a series of nine creative seats across the district. The seats will form part of a trail around Fitzrovia and encourage the local community to pause, connect and enjoy their surroundings. A local business has sponsored each seat, which will be in place throughout the festival in June and possibly the summer months.

Fitz&Sits aligns with the LFA2025 theme, Voices, which will create new and inclusive places to meet to encourage conversation and story-telling.

How to get involved

As this is a local community initiative, there are several ways you can get involved.

Spring Clean your Unwanted Fabrics before 8 April

Fabric donations are needed to create fabric tiles which will be used in one of the bench constructions. If you have unwanted clothes, bed linen, curtains in a single colour, please drop them off to LDG on Great Titchfield Street, Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm, before 8 April.

Get involved in the creative process

A couple of artists and seat designers are looking for help from the local community to develop their sustainable seats as part of the temporary seat installations for LFA2025 in Fitzrovia.

Join a concrete tile-making workshop on Saturday 10 May at the Fitzrovia Community Centre

Be part of the creative process to make tiles for a wonderful bench that remembers the history and impact that Virginia Wolfe had in Fitzrovia. Lasting 1.5 hours, learn how to craft tiles that may be used in the seat construction or can be taken home.

Places will be available to book here soon.
