How we make Fitzrovia safer and cleaner
From warden patrols with My Local Bobby, training available to our members, and intelligence sharing with local agencies including the Safer Business Network, there are a number of ways we're working to keep Fitzrovia safe.
Our primary objectives are:
- Reducing rough sleeping - we work with Camden and Westminster's rough sleeping and outreach teams, and with StreetLink, to support people sleeping rough to get help and support and to find accommodation options.
- Improving street cleanliness - removing litter and providing extra cleaning services where required.
- Reducing crime - our wardens work closely with the businesses around the area to provide a visible presence and a first response, supporting reducing and preventing crime.
We also work with the community to improve the cleanliness of our streets, encouraging reporting of litter, graffitti, and fly-tipping. We work with our partners at First Mile, to educate businesses on waste collection and recycling, and our Fitz-Rover is out every day collecting bags of loose waste and jet-washing footpaths. This is in addition to the cleaning and waste disposal offered by the council.
Fitz-Rover
Our electric street cleaning machine, run by our parters Walkers Cleaning, collects on average 25 bags of loose waste per day, and jetwashes footpaths to remove stains caused by spilled waste or poor management of bag contents. We target specific hot-spots, but please get in touch if there's an area that needs some attention.

My Local Bobby
Our street warden team, provided by My Local Bobby, are experts in creating a safe and secure neighbourhood. They work closely with the police and local authority, providing a uniformed presence and offering a rapid response for local businesses, as well as a point of contact for visitors.
Waste and Recycling
We are committed to helping businesses work towards Carbon Net Zero. We have partnered with First Mile, offering paying and voluntary members enhanced preferential rates on their services. First Mile is our partner of choice because we trust them to find a waste solution for our partners that is also the best option for the environment.
Training
Our members can access specialist training, webinars, and safety assessments, to support them to integrate safer practices. Training includes:

- Ask for Angela Training
- WAVE (Welfare and Vulnerability Engagement) training
- Pub Watch
