London Festival of Architecture 2026

2026 marked the third year Fitzrovia has been an LFA neighbourhood.

A key objective for us is to raise awareness of Fitzrovia as an exciting London destination. We approach this in a number of ways and are always seeking opportunities to reach new audiences and raise Fitzrovia's profile.

Given Fitzrovia's architectural and design heritage, the London Festival of Architecture, felt like a natural partnership and over the years' we've been involved in the Festival, engagement and impact have been growing.

As part of this years' (2026) activation, we commissioned a design competition to build on the success of the 2025 Fitz&Sits seating trail.

The competition asked for bold wayfinding and seating installations to be positioned at key gateways into the area.

22 emerging architects, designers, and artists submitted designs, and Adalberto Lonardi was selected as the winner, by a judging panel that included representatives from Camden and Westminster Councils, amongst other stakeholders.

His vibrant totems responded to Fitzrovia's rich architectural heritage and creative identity, drawing visitors into the area from Warren Street Station, Whitfield Gardens, and Great Titchfield Street.

The neighbourhood programme brought together 21 unique activities, and 39 events throughout June celebrating Fitzrovia as a place where people, ideas, and communities come together.

Responding to the theme of 'belonging', the programme created opportunities to connect. In total 19 organisers made up the programme of tours, talks, workshops, exhibitions, performances, and installations.

Communications

The LFA delivered an enhanced communications package as part of our partnership, including dedicated newsletter content, a dedicated neighbourhood page on their website, additional social media promotion, bespoke press activity, enhanced creative assets, and increased professional photography.

Meanwhile, we also curated a programme of communications focussed on the festival on our owned channels, distributed leaflets to local businesses, and held a launch event.

We had a great event with some 40 people in attendance. A lively conversation continued until 10pm! It's also inspired lots of ideas for follow-ups for next year.
