Echo in the Fog & Tomorrow’s Sorbet at Art Forward Gallery
Two concurrent exhibitions at Art Forward Gallery explore the expressive possibilities of contemporary textile practice through distinctly different perspectives.
In Gallery 1, Echo in the Fog marks the debut solo exhibition of Polish, London-based artist Karolina Dworska. Drawing on mythology, folklore, faith, and memory, the exhibition centres on a monumental textile triptych, accompanied by new sculptural and textile works that invite visitors into a dreamlike landscape where the boundaries between humanity and the natural world begin to dissolve.
Alongside this, Gallery 2 presents Tomorrow's Sorbet, a collaborative installation by Heidi Pearce and Andia Coral Newton. Transforming the gallery into an uncanny domestic interior, the exhibition examines denial as a means of self-preservation, using woven architecture and sculptural textile figures to create an environment that is at once playful, theatrical, and quietly unsettling.
