Taring Padi Exhibition at Ibraaz
Ibraaz presents Rakyat Pasti Menang, meaning 'the people united will never be defeated', bringing together major works and archival material from nearly thirty years of history.
The exhibition is by Taring Padi, an Indonesian collective of artists founded in Yogyakarta in 1998.
Unfolding over a series of changing displays, the show will feature Taring Padi's large -scale banners, inspired by the protest chants heard during the sociopolitical upheaval that accompanied Indonesia's Reformasi movement in the late 1990s.
The exhibition will involve presentations, workshops centred on the collective's practices of puppetry and printmaking, together with a public programme of talks and activations.
