82% reporting having more connections and knowing where to look for career opportunities

98% said it will enhance their applications and improve their chances of being successful

Why get involved?

Every activity is designed to be meaningful for both young people and employers. By taking part, you can:

  • inspire the next generation and support social mobility
  • enhance employee engagement through rewarding development opportunities
  • demonstrate positive social impact and contribute to inclusive growth
  • access emerging talent and build stronger links with future workforce pipelines
  • receive practical support, guidance, training, and coordination from experts

How can I get involved?

Bridging the gap event

Be part of a large-scale careers event bringing together up to 50 young people and local professionals to explore career pathways, build professional networks, and develop workplace skills.

You could:

  • join panel discussions
  • take part in a workshop
  • deliver mock interviews
  • support networking activities and informal career conversations

Insight day

Host up to 30 young people from 10am-3pm at your workplace and provide genuine insight into the organisation, roles, and sector.

You could:

  • provide workplace tours
  • run hands-on workshops and interactive activities
  • facilitate Q&A sessions
  • introduce different career pathways

Work experience placements

Provide a meaningful five-day placement during summer 2027, enabling young people to apply their skills and build confidence in a real working environment.

You will:

  • allocate a line manager or mentor
  • conduct an introductory call before the placement to explain the workplace
  • offer meaningful, task-based activities rather than observation-only experiences
  • provide feedback and support young people to identify next steps

What support will I receive?

We will provide:

  • full programme funding, coordination, and administration
  • recruitment of young people and wraparound support before, during, and after activities
  • support to put in place appropriate risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
  • training, guidance, and ongoing advice throughout delivery
  • impact measurement and reporting

Participating businesses will need to provide a safe and inclusive experience, appropriate Public Liability Insurance cover and support with feedback and evaluation.

Whether you can offer a few hours of staff volunteering or host a full workplace experience, your involvement will help young people explore careers, develop skills, gain meaningful workplace experience and build connections that support positive future pathways.
