£20 and £50 paper notes to be withdrawn from 30 September

In less than 100 days, you will not be able to spend or accept payment with paper £20 and £50 notes. From 30 September 2022, only the new polymer notes will be accepted when purchasing anything over the counter. Paper notes can still be deposited into bank accounts after the deadline. Read more
