Bike fatalities in London at lowest level on record

The number of people killed on London’s roads in 2021 fell by 22 per cent to the lowest level on record. Casualties have risen as traffic returned to normal levels as we eased out of lockdown restrictions. The Met and Mayors office are running a campaign to increase safety for vulnerable road users, cyclists, pedestrians and motorcyclists, who make up 81% of casualties, and tackle speeding of cars. Cars continue to be the main vehicle involved in collisions and fatalities of cyclists.
