TfL is celebrating 50 years of the Pride movement across the network. TfL users will start to see a collection of specially curated and designed Pride-themed photos and posters with special LGBT+ language appearing in London Underground, London Overground, DLR, Elizabeth line and bus stations this week, ahead of the Pride in London celebrations this weekend.
Various LGBTQ+ groups and businesses are highlighted such as cabaret group, Cocoa Butter Club, and Gay’s the Word, the oldest LGBTQ+ independent bookstore. The posters also pay homage to Polari — a secret code language used by LGBT+ Brits in the 1900s. TfL will also support Pride with a fully electric bus will accompany TfL marchers on the Pride in London 2022 parade too.
