Colourful crossings installed on Tottenham Court Road and visit by Mayor of London

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, Mayor of Camden Sabrina Francis, Night Czar Amy Lamé and various councillors such as Adam Harrison, all visited Tottenham Court Road on the morning of 16 September to unveil colourful pedestrian crossing art installations, accompanied by the artist Yinka Ilori. Amy Lamé also stopped by our #LetsDoFitzrovia food and drink fayre for a quick hello.

Tottenham Court Road will host 11 colourful pedestrian crossings as part of the Mayor of London’s Let’s Do London campaign for a year. It is hoped that these crossings will help to attract visitors and help revitalise central London. The crossings will be transformed for the London Design Festival and #LetsDoLondon into beautiful outdoor works of art for everyone to enjoy. The crossings were designed by talented artist Yinka Ilori working in partnership with Camden Council and the Mayor’s cultural team.
