Fraud offences rise significantly post-pandemic

Fraud and computer misuse offences have increased by 37% compared with the pre-coronavirus year ending March 2020. The number of offences recorded are also at their highest since 2005/6. Fraud is a major crime that needs to be tackled, and likely exacerbated by the cost of living crisis. Police and crime commissioners are pushing for fraud to be recognised as a priority.
