Transport for London has launched three new Cycleways across the capital, which will make it even easier for people to travel around London by bike. These new routes, the first of a series to be launched mainly using new low-traffic local streets, are being delivered at pace alongside TfL and the boroughs’ existing programme to build new walking and cycling infrastructure and will help to connect even more of London’s communities by cycle. This innovative approach will see over 124,000 more Londoners within 400m of a high-quality cycle route, contributing to the Mayor’s target of 70 per cent of Londoners living within 400m of a high quality cycle network by 2041.
