Tube strike – August 19
Tube strike – August 19

To add to travel dilemmas this summer, tube workers will strike on Friday 19 August. Rail strikes are also taking place on Thursday 18 August and Saturday 20 August.

The RMT union has stated the Strikes are over lack of transparency from TfL refusing to share the details of a draft government proposal they received regarding funding of the transport system in the capital, and without consulting the recognised trade unions. TfL have said they are unable to make promises until a long-term funding agreement is decided with the government.

All tube lines will be affected on Friday 19 August. They could be called off if TfL give assurances to RMT union of no job reductions, no changes to pensions and no change to working conditions.
