Crossrail will begin trials of 12 trains per hour as part of its testing phase, which began in May. Work was paused for a few weeks for works to catchup and be finished on other stations. This is a major milestone towards completion of Crossrail which has been hit with many delays and funding shortages.
The testing will help to fine tune the system, and ensure the crossrail is suitable for passenger capacities and performance requirements, using stress testing, looking for errors and updating and fixing any software bugs. 12 trains an hour signals they are at the half way point for trial running.
