West End Project Update: November 2021

Final resurfacing works to Grafton Way – 20 and 21 November
Resurfacing that was postponed on Grafton Way, will continue on the eastern section between Beaumont Place and Gower Street. The northern section of Gower street will become two-way as a final change, more information will be shared on this when the project completes. There will be disruption due to noise and large machinery. To reduce disruption to UCLH and ambulances work will take place on weekends. Diversion routes will be in palce to direct traffic. Working hours will be 8am – 6pm on Saturday and 10am – 6pm on Sunday, setting up and taking down of the diversion signs may take place outside of these hours.

Alfred Park
Work continues to install the first new central London park in 100 years. New seating and planting beds are in place, and work is expected to be completed by early 2022. There will be road closures for the laying of ducts of electricity cables, starting 30 September. Visit WEP site for closure information and plans.

Pocket Parks
Work will start this month to install two new pocket parks, Capper Street, and Bedford Avenue starting 8 November 2021 to finish within around a week.
