The Elizabeth line, currently being constructed by Crossrail, will transform travel across London, boosting the economy by billions of pounds.
A fleet of 66 new 200 metre long trains will run on the Elizabeth line, with the first new train scheduled to enter passenger service between Liverpool Street Main Line and Shenfield in May 2017.
The focus is now on fitting out the new tunnels and stations as well as upgrading stations and infrastructure on existing parts of the network.
The Elizabeth Line will stop at 40 stations – 10 newly built and 30 newly upgraded as indicated on the map – and serve approximately 200 million people each year. It will change the way people travel around London and the south east and add much needed new capacity to the Capital’s transport infrastructure.
With Tottenham Court Road Station as one of the Elizabeth Line’s station stops the impact to the area will be greatly benifical.
