A SUSTAINABLE DISTRICT OF CHOICE

Fitzrovia must be at the forefront of transitioning to a more sustainable district, working towards the goal of Carbon Net Zero. The Fitzrovia Partnership has an important leadership role to play in this. It will place sustainability at the heart of the organisation and behind activities in Fitzrovia encouraging collaboration between businesses, to drive added-value solutions for the area. This will mean leading campaigns on behalf of members to reduce the environmental impacts of conducting business, whilst improving the economic and social sustainability for businesses and other stakeholders.

The Partnership will be a key facilitator in the implementation of sustainable programmes at a local level. It will co-ordinate public-private sector partnerships to implement activities that have a greater cumulative footprint and significantly, contribute to Fitzrovia and London’s goal to become ‘cleaner, greener and ready for the future’.

A return to economic and social activity to pre-2019 levels.
A shared outcome with the Mayor of London’s target to make the capital Carbon Net Zero by 2030 and Camden Council’s 2030 Carbon Net Zero target and participating in the Camden Climate Change Alliance which supports Camden’s Action Plan to make the borough’s air quality World Health Organisation compliant by 2030.
Championing the ESG framework and minimising business impact upon the environment.
A further £3m reduction in business costs through specialist procurement and economies of scale.
Collaborative working with members and partners, both public and private, to enhance the quality of the public realm and amenity.

The need to minimise the impact of businesses is both a moral and commercial imperative. Business Improvement Districts deliver collaborative activities which individual businesses often find difficult to achieve. Within a large collective, members have the opportunity to work with one another to benefit their business.

Our Six Delivery Programmes

The BID focuses on delivering on six interconnected programmes which together will be effective at supporting and promoting the growth of Fitzrovia businesses, while at the same time reflecting any additional interests of the wider community.

These six key programmes will be underpinned in their delivery by economic, environmental and social objectives:

1. Voice and Representation

Through lobbying and consultations, we provide a representative voice for Fitzrovia’s businesses at local and central government levels.

2. ESG – Economic / Social / Governance

We assist members achieve ESG targets through collaborative work in the district and seek to build a more sustainable and resilient Fitzrovia.

3. Environmental and Place

Through a combination of a clear public realm strategy and effective day-to-day management of public spaces, we aim to deliver a cleaner, greener, safer and more sustainable district.

4. Reducing Costs

Increasing occupancy costs continue to challenge business in Fitzrovia. Through specialist procurement and economies of scale the BID provides added value and tangible benefits.

5. Insights

We are constantly evolving our approach to data-driven performance – capturing, publishing and utilising information to help inform our members’ work and business decisions.

6. Promotion and Communication

We have a broad communications and events programme that is free to use for member businesses. Member events, business collaborations and our promotional platforms help achieve a vibrant Fitzrovia.

We see the impact The Fitzrovia Partnership has in the business community with the support and direction they provide, always working towards the common goals of creating a thriving local economy which continues to attract inward investment.
