Graphic showing brightly coloured totum infront of warren street station

Find Fitzrovia is a series of gateway wayfinding installations by Adalberto Lonardi Studio, the result of a design competition in partnership with the London Festival of Architecture (LFA) 2026.

Long celebrated as London’s bohemian heart, Fitzrovia is home to a diverse mix of designers, architects, restaurants and retailers. As a neighbourhood where culture, collaboration, and community naturally come together, the area is a perfect reflection of this year’s LFA theme of ‘Belonging’.

Find Fitzrovia encourages visitors to discover Fitzrovia’s unique locations, from the BT Tower to the culinary world of Charlotte Street. Designed by Adalberto Lonardi, the colourful totems respond to Fitzrovia’s urban heritage and serve as welcoming landmarks at three distinct locations.

Use each totem as a starting point to explore and celebrate Fitzrovia’s historic streets, cultural landmarks, and independent businesses.

Warren Street – Located just outside Warren Street Underground Station, follow this totem to explore independent cafés on Warren Street and relax in Alfred Place Gardens.

Whitfield Gardens – Located north of Goodge Street Underground Station on Tottenham Court Road, this totem will lead you to the inner streets of Fitzrovia, from the culinary scene on Charlotte Street to the historic Fitzrovia Chapel.

Great Titchfield Street – Located at the junction where Great Titchfield Street and Oxford Street meet, follow this totem to get involved at the Fitzrovia Community Centre and explore the galleries on Mortimer Street.

Find Fitzrovia is on view in June and throughout the Summer of 2026.

Rooted and Relevant: How heritage shapes identity | Talk | London Festival of Architecture 2026

Explore the role of heritage in contemporary placemaking during this talk about how identitybelonging and meaning are shaped in the built environment.

Rooted and Relevant will explore the role of heritage in contemporary placemaking, asking how historic context can ground development while remaining resonant for modern audiences. Is heritage too often absent from placemaking conversations? What is lost when identity is treated as a marketing exercise rather than something embedded in the cultural and physical fabric of a place?

Stories of Fitzrovia: A Collage Workshop | London Festival of Architecture 2026

Reimagine Fitzrovia through collage in this hands-on weekend workshop. Using Dada-inspired techniques, participants create visual interpretations that re-envision Fitzrovia’s unique alphabet of people, places, and symbols. Led by architects with local knowledge, Andrada and Olympia, the workshop explores Belonging through collage-making alongside talks from local residents and business owners, offering lived perspectives.

Open to a wide audience, from teenagers to older adults of any background, the workshop invites participants to experiment while reconstructing Fitzrovia’s identity through collective making, exploring belonging as something we build together in a changing urban environment, culminating in a public exhibition of collage posters.

Fitzrovia Modern | Walking Tour | London Festival of Architecture 2026

Discover the modern buildings central to Fitzrovia’s history during this walking tour of Modernist Fitzrovia.

From art deco flourishes to brutalist outcrops, Fitzrovia compresses an improbable amount of twentieth-century ambition into a few walkable streets — much of it quietly disappearing.

These were buildings designed with purpose: to signal that everyone belonged here, that the city was made for ordinary people as much as for institutions and ideas.

This tour is for long-term residents and newcomers alike — for anyone who has ever stopped on a Fitzrovia pavement and wondered what that building was trying to say, and to whom.

Come along now. Before it's gone.
