Discover the modern buildings central to Fitzrovia’s history during this walking tour of Modernist Fitzrovia.
From art deco flourishes to brutalist outcrops, Fitzrovia compresses an improbable amount of twentieth-century ambition into a few walkable streets — much of it quietly disappearing.
These were buildings designed with purpose: to signal that everyone belonged here, that the city was made for ordinary people as much as for institutions and ideas.
This tour is for long-term residents and newcomers alike — for anyone who has ever stopped on a Fitzrovia pavement and wondered what that building was trying to say, and to whom.
Come along now. Before it's gone.
